This season at Town Players of Newtown is about courage.
Not the loud kind. Not spectacle for spectacle’s sake. But the quiet, steady courage of individuals who stand for something — who wrestle with truth, loyalty, justice, family, and personal conviction.
The plays we have chosen this year reflect that theme. They ask hard questions. They examine the cost of integrity. They explore what happens when ordinary people are placed in extraordinary circumstances. These are not stories designed simply to entertain — they are stories meant to engage, challenge, and spark conversation long after the curtain falls.
That artistic direction is intentional.
Community theatre has a responsibility beyond diversion. In a time when public discourse often feels fragmented and rushed, the theatre remains one of the few places where we sit together — strangers, neighbors, friends — and experience the same story in the same room. There is something powerful in that shared silence, in that collective breath, in that moment of reflection.
At the same time, this is a pivotal year for Town Players itself.
Behind the scenes, we are evaluating our facility, our infrastructure, and our long-term sustainability. We are building a clearer roadmap for upgrades, modernization, and growth. We are identifying what needs attention and creating a practical plan to address it. Our goal is not only to preserve this theatre — but to strengthen it for the next generation of artists and audiences.
This organization has always thrived because of its people. Volunteers who build sets late into the night. Board members who wrestle with budgets. Donors and sponsors who believe the arts matter. Audience members who return season after season because they understand that live theatre is something you cannot replicate on a screen.
Town Players is more than a venue. It is a creative home.
As President, I can say with confidence that we are not standing still. We are asking bigger questions. We are planning thoughtfully. And we are committed to ensuring that this theatre remains a vibrant cultural anchor in Newtown for years to come.
If you have ever considered getting involved — this is the moment. Whether through volunteering, sponsorship, donations, or simply bringing a friend to a show, your participation strengthens this community.
This season is about courage on stage.
This year is about commitment off stage.
Thank you for being part of both.

Warm Regards,
